Earlier this week AMI drafted a letter to the Chief Executive Officer of Baltimore City Schools. (See "AMI Objects to Meatless Mondays"). J. Patrick Boyle, AMI's president and chief executive officer, challenged the decision to eliminate meat, emphasizing that the school lunch program is now "depriving children and their parents of the ability to determine what is appropriate for their diets and their own personal circumstances."

AgriTalk also has interviewed Janet Riley, with AMI, who discusses the issue further. Click here to listen to the interview.

The Baltimore school system touches 80,000 students.
